# Stablecoin Payments overview

Stablecoin Payments lets you accept stablecoins and other digital currencies from your customers and get settled in local currency.

## What it does

Customers pay in stablecoins and other digital currencies such as BTC and ETH. They pay from their blockchain wallet, or from an exchange app such as Binance Pay or Crypto.com, to a one-time address managed by Triple-A. Triple-A settles to you in local currency (USD, EUR, and more) at a guaranteed exchange rate, and guarantees the funds due. Settlement in stablecoins is also available.

You can collect payments in two ways.

- Payment form. Redirect customers to a Triple-A hosted page (`type: triplea`), or embed the form in your site (`type: widget`). This fits online checkout and account top-ups.
- Payment links. Generate a link through the API or the dashboard and share it by email, chat, or invoice. This fits B2B and one-off requests.

The following image shows what a customer sees on the hosted payment form.

The second lists the available coins and networks, such as USDC and USDT on several networks, Binance Pay and Bitcoin. The third shows the amount due, the wallet address, a QR code to scan and a countdown timer.](/images/stablecoin_acceptance_checkout.png)

## How a payment flows

The following diagram shows who talks to whom during a payment.

  M->>T: Make a payment request

  T->>C: Returns the customer to your site

```
A payment goes through the following steps.
1. Your customer checks out on your site.
2. Your backend calls [Make a payment request](/api/stablecoin-payments/payments/post-payment/). You get a `hosted_url` and a `payment_reference`.
3. You redirect the customer to the `hosted_url`, or embed it.
4. The customer picks a digital currency and pays.
5. Triple-A watches the blockchain and confirms the payment, usually within seconds.
6. Triple-A sends a [webhook](/docs/reference/webhooks/) to your `notify_url`, and the customer returns to your site.
7. You fulfil the order when the payment status is `good`.
Triple-A confirms 97% of transactions instantly, and they reach `good` within seconds of being broadcast to the network. Deliver only when the status is `good`. For every status and the action to take, see [Payment statuses](/docs/reference/payment-statuses/).
## Building blocks
Four terms come up in every payment.
- Presentment currency is the currency you show your customer. Triple-A supports 143 and converts to the digital currency amount for you.
- Digital currency and network are combined in one code, for example `USDT_TRC20` for USDT on Tron. See [Coins and networks](/docs/reference/coins-and-networks/).
- Settlement currency is the local currency your account is credited in. Triple-A supports 30+, and each account holds one local currency balance.
- Guaranteed rate is the exchange rate that Triple-A guarantees for 25 minutes from when the payment is initiated.
The currencies in a single transaction are independent. A customer can pay in USDT on Tron, you can display prices in EUR, and you can settle in SGD. See [Which currency is which](/docs/stablecoin-payments/your-first-payment/#which-currency-is-which).
